isiZulu.net is an attempt to build a free Zulu-English online dictionary with a modern Zulu vocabulary. Besides the usual bidirectional lookups it offers automatic morphological decomposition, conjugation and phonetic spelling of Zulu words, simple phrase translation, spell checking and basic grammar and pronunciation guides.
Anyone can contribute new words to the dictionary through the forum. The quality of the entries is only as good as its contributions.
isiZulu.net can be added as a search engine to browsers supporting OpenSearch (e.g. Firefox).
The dictionary can be queried through a REST webservice that returns JSON data. To get a user account just send me an e-mail.
There will be a talk about isiZulu.net given at the AFRILEX Conference in July. A Quantum of Fame. :-)
An offline version of the dictionary is now available for download.
