Bilingual Zulu-English dictionary is a hobby project attempting to build a reasonably useful, modern Zulu-English online dictionary that anyone can contribute to. Besides the usual bidirectional lookups it offers automatic morphological decomposition, conjugation and phonetic spelling of Zulu words, translation of simple Zulu and English phrases, spell checking, and grammar and pronunciation basics.

2014-08-29: Hello SSL, goodbye IPv6

The site finally has native SSL. No proxy. At the same time it's IPv4 only again.

2013-08-17: Small part of the guts open source

I released Parallel::MPM::Prefork on CPAN. It's a generalization of the parallel processing code serving dictionary queries in the background.

2013-01-15: Hello IPv6 world!

The website now runs on native dual-stack IPv4/IPv6.

2012-07-04: presented at AFRILEX 2012 is used as a reference work in the evaluation of a Lëtzebuergesch-German online dictionary at the AFRILEX Conference 2012.

2012-02-08: Browser search plug-in

You can add as a search engine to browsers supporting OpenSearch (e.g. Firefox).

2011-07-16: Dictionary query API

The dictionary offers a REST interface that returns JSON data. To use it you need an API key that you can request by e-mail.

2011-06-10: presented at AFRILEX 2011

There will be a talk about given at the AFRILEX Conference in July. A Quantum of Fame. :-)
